“Re-injury is often the result of poor rehabilitation. This is arguably the most crucial phase during recovery.”

What is the role of a Sports Therapist?

Sports Therapists work within a multidisciplinary field with the objective of returning you from an injured state to full fitness through assessment, treatment and progressive rehabilitation in the shortest time possible without compromising your health.  Some therapists choose to work directly within sport, such as professional football or rugby, while others may run a clinic whereby clients with any type of sport related injury can come in for treatment and advice at their convenience. Sports Therapists may also be found practicing alongside osteopaths (back and spinal specialists) and other complimentary professions.

It is important to emphasise that the role of the Sports Therapist does not stop at the treatment of injury. Motivation, perseverance, professionalism and efficient patient care are key qualities of a successful therapist.
